As I'm sure you are aware for the past few months I've been working on a 3rd year project called Hook Line & Stinker. I've been editing their animatic for them but as that is now locked and the animation process well under way I have had the chance to animate a shot for them.
This shot was originally linked to some motion capture that the directors acted out. We were hoping that the mo-cap would just need a few minor tweeks but as it happened I ended up starting the shot from scratch and just using the mo-cap as a guide.
Though it's only 3 seconds long this shout took me the best part of a whole week to animate! It's the first peice of proper animating that I've done (by that I mean on a film and not a simple walk cycle etc) and I found quite challenging but I really enjoyed doing it and I'm happy with the result. Animating in 3D is certainly something I want to focus on while doing this course and hopefully I get the chance to work on some more exciting projects like this one.
